Treadbed

As the explosives industry transitioned from package products to bulk ANFO, Tread developed their first Treadbed bulk handling trucks. These robust structural ANFO Treadbed models were application engineered specifically for use in the explosives industry.

With the further introduction of bulk emulsions and various additives, blasters gained the ability to custom mix at the borehole.  In response, Tread expanded its line of bulk truck Treadbeds, offering BLEND, PUMP and QUAD type trucks to meet the challenging requirements and conditions in the field.

Unibody

The Tread Unibody design is a product solution driven by customers requesting a bulk truck body with the capability to be reconfigured to deliver the required mix of products for any particular job.  Safety, reliability, minimum maintenance, and reduced operating costs were initial guidelines for the Tread design team.  The Unibody is an innovative design that successfully achieved the requested objectives all while being versatile, expandable, and light weight.

The four compartment body is comprised of a prill bin on both ends and two additional center tanks.  The center tanks can be converted to haul either prill or emulsion.

Because we understand contracts change and the need for pumping capability varies we designed a truck that is flexible.  By adding a hose reel and pump module we can convert a heavy ANFO / blend auger Unibody truck into a QUAD.   The capability to convert the tanks and add components to the original unit provides the flexibility required to realize maximum utilization and reach optimum operational benefits.  A Tread Unibody is the only design that has the ability to service all your needs with one truck.

Bins & Elevators

When bulk storage is a requirement for your field or site operations, Tread provides solutions with ANFO and emulsion bins.   With capacities up to 60 tons, our bins are engineered and manufactured to service railcar, pneumatic, or truck unloading systems. All Tread bins include lockable unloading gates and valves, OSHA and MSHA required ladder and handrail systems, as well as means to attach fall restraining harnesses to the cones.  As an additional safety feature, the “0” speed switch is included to connect to your control system to stop the transfer auger if the elevator belt stops turning unexpectedly.

For the complete unloading and loading process of ammonium nitrate into overhead bins, choose Tread engineered bucket elevators.  Fed by our rail or truck unloading hopper/auger assembly, the Tread elevator is recognized as the most efficient and reliable method in the industry and has met the rigid standards and approval of the railroad.  They can be installed to be powered either electrically or hydraulically.
